So, over this past weekend (Feb 22-24) my church’s youth choir participated in a cool thing at Baylor University called YouthCue. It was basically a thing where our choir and bout 7 others have been working on some music for about the last 4-6 months, and we all came together at Baylor this past weekend for a festival thing. I think there was about 300 people there, and it was really cool getting to hear the music with all those voices. The Baylor Orchestra played along with us. It was a really cool thing. Unfortunately, I had to leave before the final concert because our choir leaders thought i had gotten the flu because my whole family has it, but i didn’t. It was still fun going, and it was a really cool experience. I hope to go again next year, and I hope I don’t have to come home early again!
So, I came home today to my family’s washing machine being broken. I really needed a few things washed, but my mom had already made her trip to a friend’s house to wash. I remembered seeing a cool story on Night Line who lived green for a year. This included washing his clothes WITHOUT a washing machine. He had a cool idea of bathtub-washing, and it looked effective, so I thought I’d try it. A quick Google search and a few wet clothing pieces later, I now find my hands with a neat smell of Joyful Expressions! and my few peices of clothing drying in the tub. It was a cool, simple idea to a not-so-big problem. I feel like I’ve gained a new life skill that may come in handy later in my college days.
I have to admit that I will be glad when my dad does get around to taking the washing machine to be fixed!
so, it’s been awhile since i have posted (what a surprise)..i don’t seem to update very well..a lot has been going on lately.
first, our soccer team is AMAZING. i’m not aware of any district game that we have lost this year, and we don’t intend on doing it any time soon. the boys soccer team is doing quite good this year, too..
school is nearing a a halt (aka Christmas break), so that means that finals are this week..fortunately, my tests are pretty well spread out, and we will be getting out at one everyday, so thats all cool..with the arrival of Christmas break comes Christmas madness. i still haven’t bought many presents for friends yet, but i know it’ll get done sooner or later. our sunday school group is going wednesday to drop off the presents we bought for our family we adopted this Christmas, so that should be fun.
between various Christmas parties, stressful tests, the onsight of fireworks, gifts, time with friends, Christmas Sunday, work, soccer practice, and other activities this holiday season, the break should be extremely worth-while and for the most part unproductive..just the way i like it..
So, sorry for the lack of posts..I’m not sure if anyone even visits this site much, but all the same, sorry..
Some exciting news!! I have added a new page to the site!! Woo-hoo!! It’s noting much..it’s just a collection of some videos that I have made in the past..there’s only one video, but expect more!! It is from my recent trip to Guatemala..the quality is not exactly what I would have hoped for, but you can still see what’s going on..anyways, you can get to it from your right or somewhere above this post..click Video Archives..ok, thanks!
So, I just might be the most excited person to know that David Beckham is coming to America..it may sounds cheesy, but he truly is one of my “idols”..I’ll never be good enough to play professionally, but I sure can work off for it, can’t I..
Here is a really cool video/commercial of Becks for Adidas..I hope you enjoy..I did..
So, I havn’t written in a while, although I’m sure not very many people have noticed, but if you have, then sorry..
So, we just got back from MFUGE on Sunday..it was the most amazing time of my life!! We were “all up in the city” of Mobile..it was amazing..The theme was the UNDERGROUND. It talked about the OPPRESSED, the SICK, the POOR, the ABANDONED, and US, and about how all these people are just like us and need the same things we need..The neat thing about it was that the staff (or track leaders) taught you how to minister to people and how to help and serve people. The neat thing about it was that they didn’t just teach you how to do it, they showed you how to do it. They put you in situations that made you go outside your comfort zone and talk to/minister to/ or just serve others. It was really cool, and really unique..the only bad thing was that it was only a week long..it should have been at least 2 weeks, or more..for everyone who didn’t come, you missed out, big time..I can’t wait till next year!!
The Mystery Trip. It a thing our youth group at church does each year. We get on a bus, not knowing where we are going, and we just drive. It’s kinda fun trying to figure out where we are going. Last year we ended up climbing a “rock wall” inside an old silo in Oklahoma City. It was lots of fun….This year (aka this past weekend) however was not as much fun.
We ended up inMemphis. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love Memphis, it has lots of cool things, but we didn’t much of anyting while we were there. We went to Graceland, which wasn’t really that bad, kinda fun accutally. Then we went to a famous BBQ restraunt, that was ok, but then the next day we went on a boat ride for 3 HOURS. That was not as much fun. We just sat around and talked and complained about how hot it was. Then after that we took a trolly ride and went to a baseball game. Whoo, that was WAY out of the ordinary - not. I know our youth Minister tried and everything, but I didn’t think it was too much fun.Oh, well, we did Memphis, now its just another place we can look forward to NOT going to next year.
This is a place where a brown headed teenage girl can come and share experiences, news, pictures, and more..it's also filled with random stuff, and things I like. I hope you enjoy!
